Internship Work
Sports Illustrated
Sports Illustrated assembled a group of interns to develop a relaunch strategy for its formerly produced publication, Sports Illustrated on Campus. Serving as team leader, I helped organize and facilitate team discussions. Our team decided to launch the program on a strictly digital medium, and also proposed that the publication develop a website that allowed news to be customized to the user. To find out specifics on our group's proposed research strategy, click on the Sports Illustrated link.

Course Projects
Integrated Marketing Communications
In Integrated Marketing Communications, I worked with a class group to create a media campaign for a local St. Louis organization. My group focused on The Cup, a local cupcakery, and the expansion of its wedding catering services. We developed a media schedule and budget that outlined timing and costs to promote the wedding catering services across mediums. Our group utilized in-store promotions, magazine advertisements, wedding conventions, social media and more to spread the news about The Cups wedding catering capabilities. Click on The Cup logo to find out more about our media campaign.
Public Relations Writing
Throughout my Public Relations Writing course, I produced various writing material for
Nestle Purina PetCare Company, a global organization headquartered in St. Louis, Mo.

Message Design
I was the leader a group project where we designed a promotional campaign aimed at a specific client. Our group created the "Go Out and Play" a program aimed at reducing childhood obesity by encouraging kids to be more physically active. Our team's in class presentation can be viewed by clicking on the icon to the right.
Multiplatform Journalism
Multiplatform Journalism provided me the opportunity to tell stories across a variety of mediums utilizing online writing, photography, video and social media. I kept a blog throughout the course, to which I posted my projects and other material and that helped me develop and harness my skills as a multiplatform journalist.

NBC News
Working at NBC News, one of my major projects included redesigning an NBC News International Growth Plan PowerPoint that my manager, NBC News Director, Dianne Festa, presented at multiple internal and external company meetings. I was responsible for updating and reorganizing NBC News programming material, pending contract information, potential business ventures and budget data. I also was asked to create a separate MSNBC News Powerpoint that was tailored specifically for MSNBC's international expansion. Since these PowerPoints contained sensitive company data, I could not post them on my portfolio.
Nine Network of Public Media
At Nine Network I was assigned the responsibility of revamping several of the company's Web pages to make the pages more engaging and visually appealing to site visitors. I also created three pages from scratch, one of which being the Stay Tuned page you can view below. I worked closely with a project manager and Web designer to make the writing more conversational by simplifying complex ideas, adding educational infographics, organizing the page flows for clarity and adding relevant quotes and photos to supplement the written material.
